Funny is what funny does. But what is the real king of comedy? You might be surprised that more people view newspaper and Internet cartoons than all the funny movies, sitcoms, late night shows, and stand-up comedians if they were all lined up side-by-side.
I love sometimes simply thinking of my youth and “those simple days”. Especially thinking back to being a toddler, and, yes, I do remember, and watching Popeye on television. Mom had to pry me away from the tv to do my homework.
Let’s face it, science has a negative connotation with many pious persons. Maybe it has to do with religion and faith not requiring facts. Religion and faith, relies on a “leap of faith”, which, of course, is why they call it faith, nothing more than faith.
In the late 1990’s I met an interesting man while I was in college in southern Mississippi. His name was Rick London who later founded the Internet icon, the offbeat Londons Times Cartoons. I had worked in several places. Rick was the first boss that had any substance as to my marketing degree. I think it is safe to say he was and is a genius. He was not educated, but learned through life’s hard knocks. I was about twenty or so. Rick was in his early forties.
The new fashion comeback kid this year has to be novelty buttons. I remember as a kid buying novelty buttons (usually with funny slogans) but today’s buttons are more likely to have theme cartoons or graphics that go with the clothing on which it is pinned.
