What motivates you to buy? Whether it is a vacation to Fiji, or even Peoria, a brand new Mercedes, or perhaps a used VW Beetle, or a Gucci bag or a nice slightly used but gently worn sweater from the local Goodwill, it had to do with yours (and my) emotions.

And then thoughts come popping into my mind like bubbles from nowhere - “How did their life become so adorably sweet? How come they still can manage to laugh and play around despite a busy stressful life?” Then I pause and observed for awhile I figured out that maybe, they start to work on a place called ’self’.

I received an email from a woman I know last week. She considered me a happy person. It surprised me. I don’t consider myself particularly sad or pessimistic, just not what one deems happy. I’m simple. Maybe that is what she meant. She gave me ten seconds to reply.
As I type this my 4-year-old son is sitting beside me. He has a cold and a slight fever, but all he has said today since he woke up six hour ago is “I’m better now. I’m all better.” How much can our attitude change how we cope with a chronic illness and even make us happy?
If our grandparents and great-grandparents knew how the diet-, food- and pharmaceutical industries have a hold on us, they would surely turn in their graves. There is a pill for everything, there is a diet for everyone and every body style, even every blood type. Today we are bombarded with “shoulds” and “should not’s” and people feel guilty for eating foods in the first place. Some feel that just looking at foods makes them gain an ounce (heavens forbid). What a joke!
