Neuro Linguistic Programming also known as “NLP” is nothing but a behavioural science developed by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in 1970’s. Experts who have understood this science can now help people gain amazing success with their personal and professional lives.

Being a model of behavioural science NLP largely depends on human experiences and pays close attention to how these experiences influence human behaviour. NLP not only models this human behaviour but also tries to replicate it in others.

Communication depends on the way our behavioural pattern gets influenced by our memory and motivation. This human interaction, made possible by communication, is modelled by making use of NLP. Since NLP deals with human experience and the pattern of behaviour, it has also been closely referred as - The study of human excellence. NLP is a very effective tool for those who want to expand their power of communication with others. Acquiring NLP training may benefit people in multiple ways. The people working in business, marketing, human resources, management, education, training, performance and meditation can take advantage of NLP training.

NLP is useful to understand and alter unconscious behaviours that may be limiting and unhelpful. Our habits form the patterns of our behaviour that exist at unconscious levels and are part of programming. NLP makes us familiarize with our insights into how we operate as humans showing how we process and store information and most importantly how we can alter behaviours and feelings that no longer are part of our life. Thus NLP has tools that not only help us to make changes for ourselves but also to assist other people. NLP teaches you how your brain works this is the reason why most personal development courses and coaching programmes now incorporate NLP in their practices.

NLP has now entered into everything and also creating a lot of confusion too. There are some differing users of NLP who hold diverse point of views. Some call it revolutionary whereas some denounce it by stating it as a pseudo-science. NLP can be risky if one can use it unwisely. Some less scrupulous users of NLP worship it to be beneficial as a sales tool for manipulating nave buyers. It can not be denied that extraordinary benefits can be gained from proper use of NLP technique.

The wide use of NLP in teaching, self-help and corporate environments makes it worth understanding. We have to figure out how to use it for our own benefit and that of the clients. We do not recommend that NLP is a quick-fix solution for any issue and every claim made by NLP proponents or trainers should be accepted at face value. NLP is generally taught in an accelerated manner using direct examples and hands-on experiential training. The best way to learn NLP is to experience it directly by working with an accredited NLP Practitioner. However, you can also consider opting for some pre-study material like books or DVDs that can give you proper idea about NLP and its application.
