Bits and Pieces
Posted by admin / Under Flower GardeningGot out for a while, but I'm just going to have to accept that I can't take the heat anymore. 5 minutes in the Sun and I start getting light headed The tomcat is Loki, he is very gentle but on the wild side. It's taken him 3 years to fully trust me. He weighs at least 20 pounds, not too much fat. He just showed up one day skinny and hungry. He flinched any time you moved your hands.

Prosumer Bridge Camera VS DSLR
Posted by admin / Under Flower GardeningWhen I bought my Sony DSLR I hung on to my Panasonic FZ30 and my old Olympus c2100. Sometimes I want to travel light and there are situations where the smaller camera gets results with less effort. The rose is from the Panasonic, amaryllis fron the Sony.I'm on my second FZ30 I ran the first one until it stopped, lots of shots.

This is a Tri colored Heron, an amaryllis and a really pretty multicolored rose.

The corpse flower -- a tital arum (large lily), or Amorphophallus titanium (huge unshaped penis) -- normally grows wild in Indonesian rainforests. The schedule by which they flower is unpredictable, and once they do so, it is only for 24 to 48 hours, says a notice on the Web site of San Francisco State University. In 2008 when the museum's other corpse flower bloomed, it gave off...
Around the Lake
Posted by admin / Under Flower GardeningMaria Sanchez Lake is almost downtown St. Augustine, a residential area with older homes. The lake is a bird magnet and there are often some nice flowers in yards around the lake. If you don't see any birds near the water look up in the Oak trees. This Great Egret and the White Ibis were waiting for the tide to start in. This flower is a Lycoris, it was almost hidden by someone's garbage can.
